Deer mouse covers a large geographic area in North America and is present in a large amount. Deer mouse usually prefers rural areas and forests and not normally found in the cities. The deer mouse has a total life span of 8 years but usually live for 2 to 24 months due to temperature conditions, availability of food and diseases. In a year female member have litters 3 to 5 times. The productive rate completely depends on the amount of food. If present in a high amount, the number can go high but if not numbers will be low.

How does a deer mouse enter my home?

Deer mouse enters in a house through a hole or broken area. They can enter in house through openings at ground level or below ground level, chimneys and roof vents. They are capable of a climbing areas so can enter through roofs as well. They require a minimum of 0.6 cm. (1/4 in.) hole to enter.

How do I know if I have a deer mouse infestation?

There is a possibility of mouse infestation, if your house is in rural or semi rural area. Droppings, fresh gnawing and tracks indicate areas where mice are active.
